چکیده
Intensive tillage-based production systems coupled with inefficient fertilizer management practices have led to increased costs, sub-optimal productivity, and significant environmental externalities. Conservation agriculture (CA) is being increasingly advocated as a strategy overcome these issues but precision nutrient under the CA-based maize-wheat system rarely studied. Two year’s (2014–2015 2015–2016) research was conducted at farm of BISA, Pusa, Bihar, India develop for in system. Seven treatment combinations involving (i) tillage (conventional tillage; CT & permanent beds; PB) (ii) rates, application methods (farmers’ practices; FFP, state recommended dose fertilizer; SR using Nutrient Expert tool; NE GreenSeeker; (GS), applied two methods; broadcasting (B) drilling (D)) were investigated multiple parameters. The results showed that NE, NE+GS, SR-based tactics improved crop yields, nutrient-use efficiency (NUE), economic profitability relative NE-broadcasting, broadcasting, FFP methods. Maize-wheat productivity net returns NE+GS-drilling on PB significantly higher by 31.2%, 49.7% compared FFP-broadcasting method, respectively. Total global warming potential (GWP) lower PB-based CT-based FFP. Higher (15.2%) carbon sustainability index (CSI) recorded NE-drilling method. Results suggests together approaches (NE+GS+drilling) can increase NUE, while reducing emission greenhouse gases (GHGs) from eastern Indo Gangetic Plains (IGP).

Maize productivity and nutrient use efficiency in Western Kenya as affected by soil type and crop management
Low soil fertility and high weed infestation are the main culprits for the declining maize production inWestern Kenya. Technology packages to address these constraints exist, but their effectiveness is likely to be influenced by variability in soil types and farm management practices in the region. Trials were conducted during the 2008/2009 cropping seasons to investigate the nutrient use e...

The effect of tillage, crop establishment and weed management was studied on theperformance of wheat grown after soybean at New Delhi, India during 2010-11 to 2011-12.Sixteen treatment combinations involved 2 tillage, viz. conventional tillage (CT) and zero tillage(ZT), two crop establishment practices, viz. raised-bed and flat-bed and four weed management, viz. isoproturon + hand weeding, mesos...
متن کاملNutrient Management for Increased Crop Productivity and Reduced Environmental Impacts
Careful management of plant nutrients is more important than ever because of volatile grain/fertilizer price ratios and public concerns about water quality impairment due to excess nutrient loss from fields. The management concepts most relevant to increase the efficacy of crop production while limiting water quality impairment are different for nitrogen (N) than for less mobile nutrients such ...

In order to investigate the effect of pre-emergence and post-emergence herbicides on nutrient depletion, weed population and nutrient uptake by wheat in sesame-wheat cropping system in Khuzestan a field experiment was conducted in randomized complete block design with three replications in the research farm of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz in 2019-2020. Treatments included no weeding, hand...
متن کاملSlurry injection to optimize nutrient use efficiency in maize: Soil nitrogen dynamics and plant nutrient status
Slurry injection below maize seeds is a rather new application technique developed to improve the nitrogen use efficiency of liquid organic manure. To enable the characterization of the spatial and temporal soil mineral nitrogen (SMN) dynamics after slurry injection the present study aims to develop an appropriate soil sampling strategy. Three consecutive experiments were conducted. The first t...
